Balinese Culture
Bali is home to over 3 million people, with 90% practicing Hinduism - making it a unique cultural enclave in predominantly Muslim Indonesia. Daily life revolves around religious ceremonies, temple offerings (canang sari), and community gatherings.
You'll see offerings on the streets every morning, hear gamelan music from temples, and witness colorful ceremonies almost daily. The Balinese are known for their warm hospitality and genuine smiles.
Temple Etiquette:
- • Cover shoulders and knees
- • Wear a sarong (available at temples)
- • Don't stand higher than shrines
- • Women should not enter during menstruation

Bali is a relatively small island (about 5,780 km²) but traffic can make distances feel longer. Southern Bali (Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu) is the most developed and touristy. Central Bali (Ubud) offers culture and nature. The north and west coasts remain more traditional.
🛵 Scooter
€4-5/day - Most popular option. Need international license. Be careful in traffic!
🚗 Car + Driver
€35-50/day - Great for day trips. Driver knows the roads and can be your guide.
🚕 Grab/Gojek
